ARNOLD & SON LEEDS” English work—19th century (signs of wear) H. 25 cm - Diam. 20 cm Note: The E.J. Arnold company was founded by Edmund James Arnold (born in 1840) in 1863. Initially, the company was a printing and publishing firm. When it moved to Leeds around 1870, the company began producing globes for schools. It quickly gained a reputation for its educational products. In 1918, Edmund’s son, George, took over the company and ran it until the 1950s. The company closed its doors in 1991.
