The Sons of Émile DEYROLLE (1893-1937) Anatomical skinning of a cockchafer, mounted on an oak base with metal stem. Bears a plaque marked "LES FILS D EMILE DEYROLLE 46 RUE DU BAC PARIS". The insect is cut in two, with the internal organs on one side and the exterior of the animal, wings open, on the other. Educational object for a high school France, early 20th century H. 49 cm - L. 41 cm - Dim. (base) 50 x 32 x 5 cm Note: Founded in 1831 by Émile Deyrolle, DEYROLLE was a company specializing in natural science, renowned for its creations for schools and the general public. In 1893, the company's name was changed to "Les Fils d'Émile Deyrolle" to reflect the family tradition. Gabriel Deyrolle and his brother-in-law Paul Groult took over the company. Paul Groult soon began to sign his creations with his name, and modernized the Deyrolle factory, notably with the arrival of the telephone. In 1937, he sold his shares to his nephew Georges Groult, and the company became "Les Établissement Deyrolle", which still exists today.
