JAPAN Umbrella with cane pommel formed from an ivory netsuke carved with various character heads in the spirit of NŌ theater masks. The MEIJI period (1868-1912) pommel is signed by Maison WILSON in Paris (cane and umbrella retailer manufacturer at 8, rue DUPHOT in the late 19th and early 20th centuries). The parasol was assembled during the Art Deco period, circa 1920-1930. The parasol is held by an original leather cord finished with a tassel and a carved ivory bead from the same period (MEIJI - 1868-1912). All original Gross weight : 680 gr Total length : 90 cm Netsuke length: 4 cm (some cracks in the ivory) Tassel length: 3.3 cm Bead length: 1.5 cm
