Table clock in "Boulle première partie" marquetry of brass on tortoiseshell, decorated "à la Bérain" with foliage, scrolls and foliage, and chased and gilded bronze; The domed capital is surmounted by a child holding a torch and flanked by vases with foliate bouquets; the uprights are consoles with mascarons and garlands; the base is scrolled, acanthus and rosette-shaped, framing a lambrequin with passementerie and applique mascaron; the small feet are decorated with foliate friezes. The copper dial with twelve enamelled cartouches indicates the hours in Roman numerals and the minutes in Arabic numerals on its outer edge, and surmounts a relief motif with allegorical figures holding a contoured cartouche centred on an oval enamelled medallion bearing the signature "Baltazar Martinot à Paris" (the movement plate also signed).
