AUZOUX company (1828 to 2000) - Lot 281
AUZOUX company (1828 to 2000) Quart de crâne anatomique du grand écorché du docteur Auzoux (1797-1880) H. 24 cm The grand écorché model was the largest of the human anatomical écorchés produced by the Auzoux firm, faithfully representing the elements of an adult human body. The head is composed of 6 parts (plus the brain), all removable and finely decorated to represent the entire anatomy (even inside). With a hook system, the skin could be opened to reveal the anatomy. Numbers and annotations allow you to find the precise names of organs, anatomical parts, veins, etc. Everything is colored to make the model as realistic as possible. Over time, the skinned models are damaged because they are made of paper and cardboard. So our model is the survivor of an old écorché. France, during Louis Auzoux's lifetime, circa 1850-1880
