Attributed to Benedetto LUTI (1666 - 1724) God pursuing Cain after the murder of Abel Sanguine, pen and brown ink, brown and gray wash, white highlights 50 x 33 cm, cut corners, oxidation Monogrammed lower right B. L. Our drawing can be compared with the picture painted by Benedetto in Rome in 1692, now in Kedleston Hall, Derbyshire (Viscount Scardale, The National Trust). There is a drawing of this composition by Luti, which is the final study for the painting (Stephen Ongpin Fine Arts, London). This drawing is the same size as ours.
