Precious silver set with the coat of arms of Pierre Broussel (1575-1654) featuring an octagonal-headed compass, a shaft forming a penholder, an hourglass and a grenade-shaped inkwell. Inkwell engraved with the Broussel family coat of arms and monogrammed cover. Nestable set.
Other silver sets signed by Butterfield or Pierre II Lemaire similar to our model can be found in the collections of the Musée du Louvre.
