The beautiful hen Model ship in wood and textile H: 75 - L: 94 cm The schooner Belle Poule was built in 1932 at the Chantiers navals de Normandie in Fécamp. She is a replica of the Paimpol schooners that fished for cod off Iceland, hence the name "Icelandic schooner". Along with the schooner Etoile, her sister-ship, she was the last French Navy vessel to serve in the Free French Naval Forces during the Second World War. As such, they fly the Lorraine Cross bowsprit flag.
