Axel Gunnard ABERG (Uddevalla 1869 - 1894) Regiment on a battlefield Canvas 41,5 x 72,5 cm Signed lower right Gunnar ABERG Axel Gunnar Aberg was a Swedish artist who was born on May 9, 1869 in Uddevalla and died in the same city on February 18, 1894. His artistic training began at the Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm and continued in Paris under the guidance of the painter Léon Bonnat. From 1889 to 1890, he shared a house and a studio in Paris with Pelle Swedlund, a Swedish symbolist painter. He mainly produced paintings associating animals and nature. He can be compared to the Swedish painter Bruno Liljefor. His works are mainly kept at the Nationalmuseum in Stockholm.
