Large lantern or projector of plates out of sheet metal, wood and brass, carries the signature of " H.BELLIENI FILS NANCY ". About 1904 - 1920 (missing) The BELLIENI COMPANY was founded by André and François BELLIENI in 1812 in Metz. It manufactured scientific apparatus for various institutions. After the war of 1870 the company left Metz for Nancy. In 1880 Henri Bellieni, son of François took over the company. A gifted inventor, Henri won a gold medal in 1889 for the "Bellieni binoculars" (a huge success with more than 10,000 units produced). In 1904 the company moved to 1 place Carnot and continued its development and competed with Richard in Alsace - Lorraine. After a great involvement in the war, the company was sold to Paul Ritter in 1919 and its name was "H.Bellieni - Ritter successor". Then in 1930 the house became "Bellieni Ritter et fils successeur" until 1989 when Robert Ritter closed the store.
