Lever pyrometer made of metal, brass and... - Lot 148 - Euvrard & Fabre
Lever pyrometer made of metal, brass and wooden base. The device consists of a metal rod, a dial in front of which a needle can move, and a gutter or gas ramp. The rod is fixed at one end by a screw while the other end is free (and rests on a mobile lever). Under the rod, an alcohol tank is ignited. As time goes by, the rod lengthens and one can measure the lengthening and the expansion of the rod with the scale and the needle. By changing the rod, the experiment can be repeated for another metal. Thus this experiment made it possible to show a cubic dilatation and completes the experiment of the ring or ball of S'Gravesande. About 1950 Height 11 - Width 44 - Length 17 cm (To be refixed)
