Officer's shako 1812, attributed to the 52nd regiment of line infantry, First Empire. Cardboard-lined felt shaft, black leather visor stamped with foliage decoration, green inside. Black velvet headband and rigid leather cap with velvet braid lined with gold Soubise braid. Inside cap in fleece. Plaque with crowned eagle with the regulation of 1812 in gilded brass and number 52 amati on burnished field, fixed by threads (crown restored). Blue, red and white cloth cockade. Pair of chinstraps in gilded brass scales cut on leather shuttles covered with velvet, rosettes with the star. Some period pieces may have been brought back. Height of the shaft : 21,5 - height with visor 25,5 - diam. at top : 26,5 - diam. at bottom : 19 cm France, First Empire
