HUNT TO THE WOLF (The) of Monseigneur the Dauphin, or the Meeting of the Count of Rourre in the plains of Anet. Cologne, Pierre Marteau, 1695. In-12, fawn calf, gilt coat of arms on spine with gilt and ornamented nerves, gilt thread frame and gilt mark in the centre of the boards (Binding of the time, a little worn) Coat of arms of the Bréhant family repeated on the spine and on the boards. First edition of these memoirs on the thwarted love affairs of the Dauphin and the Countess du Rourre. It is decorated with a nice unsigned frontispiece showing the Dauphin hunting. Remaining anonymous, these memoirs were composed by "a Lady of the most intimate friends of the Countess du Rourre, who was one of the eyewitnesses of all that happened to her since the death of the Marshal of Luxembourg".
