The prepared slice, protected by a transparent epoxy resin, measures 250 x 180 mm (3 mm thick) for 544 g It contains partly translucent peridots (olivine), honey to green in colour, so these peridots are extraterrestrial. Cutting to obtain a thin slice of Sericho pallasite reveals its inner beauty with peridots (=olivines) formed in Space more than 4.5 billion years ago. The peridots "bathe" naturally in a matrix of ferronickel metal. .
