Exceptional beetle carved from a lunar rock with Tutankhamen's cartouche The beetle was carved from a lunar meteorite known as Dhofar 461. The scarab is a very important symbol in ancient Egypt. On the back side of this beetle was engraved the cartouche, a hieroglyphic symbol containing the name of Pharaoh Tutankhamun. It is to our knowledge the only Egyptian type beetle carved from a real piece of the moon, quite a symbol! It was carefully cut to highlight the lunar rock and its unique texture, it is 30 mm long and weighs 12.10 g. A certificate of authenticity with analyses accompanies the beetle.
