MANUSCRIT of the 17th century - Collection of poems of 133 f - Lot 125
MANUSCRIT of the 17th century - Collection of poems of 133 ff, bound in a vol. in-4, red mar., spine ribbed, finely decorated and gilt with small irons, decoration in La Duseuil on the plates, gilt tr. This collection of sonnets, rondeaux, epistres, elegies and stanzas presents texts by Mr de Voiture, de Malleville, Bensérade, Chapelain, Mavigny . The elegantly calligraphed text reveals several hands; the first ff. are illustrated and decorated with small original drawings, insects, birds, butterflies, mythological scenes, flowers, etc... Numerous old handwritten notes in the margins of the book indicate the sources of the extracts of poems. Charming manuscript witnessing the poetic sensitivity of the time. Blunt caps and corners, rough restoration to a f., dirt and margins of the first ff weakened. Without the guards.
