Attributed to Augustin DUPRE (1748-1833) ( ?), Miniature slate and wax figure of a Hermes figure Dim: (accidents) "Augustin Dupré") was appointed Graveur général des monnaies de France at the 1791 competitions, the first to be open to all artists and not only to members of the Royal Academy of Painting and Sculpture. Quickly, he centralized at the Paris Mint the manufacture of the corners with which the coins were minted in the various provincial mint hotels.
