SZILARD and others Three electrometers of SZILARD in their box: - One in its original leather box stamped " SOYNARD (?) PARIS ". - Another one made by Reiniger Gebbert & Schall Berlin, - Another model number 5 by SZLIARD One joined there: - Two galvanometers, one of which is "KIPP-DELFT HOLLAND". - An electrometer marked " CH BEAUDOUIN ". - An electrostatic voltmeter manufactured by the "SOCIETE D'APPAREILS DE MESURES... PARIS " numbered 53 A. Some of these electrometers can be found in the museum dedicated to Marie Curie in Paris. Provenance: Pic du Midi Laboratory Note : Béla Szilàrd (1884-1924), chemist and physicist of Hungarian origin. He graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy in Budapest in 1904 and became interested in the properties of radium. In 1907 he joined the laboratory of Marie Curie until 1910. In 1912 he developed his own electrometer company, the "Laboratory of Radioactive Products", to develop a new type of electrometer bearing his name. His work on radioactivity and the lightning rod earned him the Légion d'Honneur in 1925, one year before his death in 1926.
