Lot of two pewter plates with freemasonic decoration probably of the ancient and accepted Scottish rite (REAA): - One depicting an intertwined compass and square surrounding the starry G, the sparkling triangle, the J and B pillars with torch and ruler. Two acacia branches surrounding the central symbols. "A.L.G.D.G.A.D.L'U" (A La Gloire Du Grand Architecte De L'Univers) and "LIBERTE EGALITE FRATERNITE" are mentioned on the plate. A cord with six knots decorates the circumference of the plate. On the front the initials "MG 1" with three master punches (dated 1775). - The other depicts a swan with its young, the cross with the pyramids, the half-pillars, the moon and the sun surrounded by two acacia branches, framed by the J and B pillars and the staff and sword tools. "A.L.G.D.G.A.D.L'U" (A La Gloire Du Grand Architecte De L'Univers) and "LA VERTU LES UNIS LA MORT SEPARENT LES" are mentioned on the plate. A cord with six knots decorates the perimeter of the plate. On the front the initials "MG 1" with three master punches (dated 1775). French work end of XVIIIth - beginning of XIXth century. Diam. 24 cm
