It quickly gained popularity and became the only legal card game in Great Britain and the colonies (particularly the American colonies). The game is played with a 52-card deck, and the objective is to reach 121 points. To keep score, a board called a cribbage board is used. It consists of two or three rows of 120 holes (arranged in rows of 90 holes) and one hole (the winning hole).
