Luc LANEL (1893–1965) for the first-class Normandie Two Christofle silver-plated soup bowls, monogrammed “CGT” Diameter: 20 cm (rim to rim) Note: Luc Lanel was head of electroplating and later artistic director at Christofle. During the design of the ocean liner Normandie, he was commissioned to create various designs for the ship, notably two series: “Ondulation” in 1933 and “Transat” in 1935. Alongside this work, he designed the new CGT logo, which remained in use until the 1960s. Many of Lanel’s designs were later reissued.
