Cayetano Ordóñez y Aguilera, known as "El Niño de la Palma", born January 4, 1904 in Ronda (Spain), died October 30, 1961 in Madrid. Matador appreciated by the public, but very irregular. During the early years of his career, he occupied the top positions on the escalafón, but soon declined and retired in 1950. Ernest Hemingway used him as a model for his novel The Sun Also Rises. Five of his sons were bullfighters, including Antonio Ordóñez, the most famous of them all.
