MEISSEN Pair of hard porcelain cookie groups featuring Omphale seated with a club, wearing a lion skin, and a nymph holding a lyre. Models by the sculptor Ludwig von Schwanthaler. A large marble model of this nymph is in the collections of the Bayerische National Museum. A polychrome enameled porcelain figurine from Meissen uses the same Ophale model. Late 19th century Height 34 and 36 cm (chips, missing parts and restorations)
