Portico" clock in gilded, chased or knurled gilt bronze and black and white marble; the baldachin-shaped shock-absorber features a bird with outstretched wings, centered on Love seated on clouds; the movement is supported by four columns joined in pairs by garlands of flowers and foliage and flanked by two vestal figures resting on sheaths with applied arabesque decoration; the whole rests on a quadrangular base with rounded lateral projections centered on a panel decorated with children's games in the taste of Clodion; small spinning top feet. The enameled dial, localized "à Paris", indicates the hours in Roman numerals and the minutes in increments of fifteen in Arabic numerals. Louis XVI period (one element detached; chips; marble discoloration). Height: 59 - Width: 42 - Depth: 17 cm.
