Charles BLOUD (circa 1650-1700) Sundial in ivory of Dieppe octagonal engraved on all its faces. Model created by Charles Bloud bearing his initials "C B" and a crenellated frieze typical of his work. The needle in the upper part was probably added later. Presence of a large crack at the base of the device, missing compass, protective glass and thread. Dieppe, Work of the end of the XVIIth century Gross weight : 64 g Length : 7,5 - Width : 6 cm Charles Bloud (circa 1650-1700) active in Dieppe at the end of the 18th century and disappeared from the records around 1686. Inventor of a diptych dial model without magnetic declination. His creations are known for their finesse of execution and for the complexity of the instruments (sometimes with the phases of the moon, a perpetual calendar, a lunar calendar, graduations in degrees, an hour dial, an azimuth dial, a polar dial, ...)
