English planetary table or library from the 1850's in wood, brass and ivory It rests on three turned wooden legs and is composed of the 8 planets of the solar system from Mercury to Neptune. Each planet is in ivory fixed on a mobile rod. The sun is in brass. Only the Earth - Moon system is mechanical to show the rotation of the Moon around the Earth. The decoration of the first tray is composed of the months of the year, the signs of the zodiac drawn, the seasons as well as the cardinal points (north, south, east, west, northeast, .). In the center of the board are the descriptions of the planets (physical conditions, diameter, distance, sign, name, date of discovery, . ). Two instruments (compass and phases of the Moon) complete the system. The top tray is composed of three texts on the universe, the solar system, and the specificity of the planets. (Some restorations) Length: 51 cm (from Neptune to the end of the table) - Height: 22 cm English work comparable to the works of Newton & Son present in the British collections
