Meteorite, type H chondrite, discovered in the Los Vientos region of Chile. The Atacama Desert has proved to be a good place to look for meteorites over the last ten years. This desert, considered to be the driest in the world, is ideal for the preservation of meteorites that fall there.
The proposed meteorite has a small cut on one end to reveal its interior. It has the typical desert patina, the black fusion crust has turned brown as a result of alteration during its long stay on Earth, which can easily be estimated at thousands of years since its fall on our planet.
Complete meteorite measuring 130 x 80 x 50 mm for 890 g.
